We are very excited to announce that Bury Teaching Schools Alliance (BTSA) will be working with Grow Your Mindset (GyM) to offer the Grow Your Mindset Leaders Course in the summer term.
Gemma Sanchez and Liz Cronshaw of Grow Your Mindset, have the passion for and have experienced the impact that developing a Growth Mindset can have on an individual's belief, attitude and focus towards learning and life. With 25 years teaching experience between them, working through Bury and Lancashire, they have seen how successful developing a Growth MIndset can be. Their mission is to share their knowledge and experience to empower individuals to think differently and cultivate a passion for learning, no matter the age or position. Through their own research and practise they have developed a range of different projects to allow individuals, families, schools and businesses to establish a community that thrives.
Grow Your Mindset Leaders Course
This course is suitable for headteachers, SLT and PSHE leaders, wanting to develop a Growth Mindset culture in their school and with their staff. This will be delivered over three half day sessions:
- Wednesday 19th June, 9am - 12pm
- Friday 5th July, 9am - 12pm
- Thursday 11th July, 9am - 12pm
Across the UK, school leaders have growing concerns and challenge when faced with mental illness within the workplace. Schools are continually challenged by the remaining stigma of mental illness and in the recognising of symptoms before affecting staff absence. Developing a Growth Mindset culture within any school is the foundation for proactive learning and change for all. Inviting staff to embrace a Growth Mindset does not mean that outcomes become devalued, it means by refocusing on the beliefs and practices that shape your staff's confidence, to try, to learn and to grow, you are more likely to get the desired results for moving your school forward in the right direction.
On the GyM Leaders Course you will:
- Understand the underlying principles of growth mindset
- Become more self-aware of your own mindset
- See the qualities of an effective leader
- Reflect on what you have noticed about your own mindset
- Understand what a growth mindset school is
- Understand the qualities of a growth mindset leader
- Reflect on their own leadership so far
- Find solutions to common obstacles
