Welcome to the special page to support pupils, parents and teachers as Year 6 look forward to starting high school. Transition arrangements during the pandemic cannot be the same as in previous years, as it is not possible for the children or parents to visit their new schools at the moment.
Teachers in Bury high schools and primary schools have been working hard to develop new ways of easing the process to high school, and you can find links to really useful resources on this page. In particular, we would recommend the "Be Awesome, Grow Big" resources for pupils, parents and teachers. They are designed to help you in this difficult time to look forward to new challenges, and support you through any concerns you might have. They refer to the books "You are awesome" by Matthew Syed and "Go Big" by Matthew Burton, but there is no need to read the books to use the resources.
See how many of these interactive lessons you can have a look at:
1. Being awesome 2. Unlocking your mind 3. Dare to take risks 4. Making the change 5. Lost but not lost
6. Bouncebackability 7. What is normal anyway? 8. Friendships and fallouts 9. Living well
