BTSA Partner Schools

Bury Teaching Schools Alliance (BTSA) works collaboratively with a number of schools across Bury to offer Primary, Secondary and SEN School Direct placements.  We value our relationships with Bury schools and encourage our Bury colleagues to support us from the very first stages of recruitment. We take pride that 100% of our School Direct placements have been within the Borough of Bury and are proud to offer our trainees the opportunity to begin teacher training in a Bury school.

BTSA, MMU and our partner schools work together to provide high quality, first class training for all our students. Our partner schools are asked to commit to this partnership each year. This ensures that schools are fully aware of, and able to deliver, what is required and expected by the BTSA to provide a quality placement. This may mean that placement offers may vary slightly from year to year.

Our Primary trainees have been placed in a range of Bury Primary Schools including (please note that this list is not exhaustive and does not include those schools willing to provide future placements): Christ Church CE Primary, Christ Church CE Ainsworth, Fairfield, Greenmount, Higher Lane, Holcombe Brook, Holly Mount, Lowercroft, Mersey Drive, Old Hall, Park View, Ribble Drive,  St Andrew's CE, St John's CE, St Luke's CofE, St John with St Mark CE, St Mary's CE, Summerseat Methodist, Sunny Bank, Unsworth and Whitefield Primary School.

We work closely with the majority of Bury Secondary Schools and our trainees have enjoyed placements at the following schools: Broad Oak, Bury CofE High, Castlebrook, Elms Bank (for those with an interest in SEN), Parrenthorn, Philips, Prestwich Arts, St Gabriel's RC, The Derby, The Elton, Tottington and Woodhey High School.

At secondary level we have a number of partner schools (Parrenthorn, Philips, St Gabriel's RC, The Derby and The Elton) who use their specialism to contribute to the recruitment and CPD offer to our Secondary School Direct Programmes. Our secondary level partners meet as a steering group to support our vision of identifying and recruiting quality trainees and providing high quality CPD for our School Direct Programme.
