Bury Teaching Schools Alliance works in partnership with Education and Inclusion, within Bury Council Children's Services. This means that in a school-led system, Bury TSA has the resources to complement council services, in terms of school-to-school support, development and training, support for newly qualified teachers, leadership development and acting on educational research. Bury Council and Bury TSA work with all Bury schools, in all phases, and with maintained schools, academies and multi-academy trusts. Our focus together is on achieving the best outcomes for the children and young people of Bury.
Bury Secondary Learning Collaborative
All secondary schools in Bury are invited to join the Bury Secondary Learning Collaborative (BSLC). For an annual fee, schools can then access a variety of support and training:
- quality first teaching
- commonly identified training threads, such as Ofsted preparation, staff wellbeing and parental engagement
- common PAD (Professional Activity Day)
- headteachers' conference
- SLE support
- Discounted rates for NPQML and NPQSL
- NQT and RQT programmes
Bury Governance Development
The overarching aim for Bury Governance Development is to improve the life chances of the children and young people of Bury, by enabling them to achieve their full potential. This will be achieved by developing the capacity and capability of school governance in Bury so that governors and trustees play a strategic role in school improvement. BGD is a branch of Bury Governor Association. From September 2019, Bury TSA will be supporting Bury Governance Development with the administration of applications for governor training and development events. BGD not only provides governors and trustees with training events at local venues and in host schools, but also free access to the NGA Learning Link resource. See the BGD website here.
